Goa is a blend of traditional and modern culture. It still has impressions of Portuguese touch as Portuguese stayed here long back and its due to this that we see the mixed culture as we see old churches in this area.Not only this one can see spice plantation that spreads a beautiful fragrance of these spices in air. Konkani and marathi languages are spoken here widely.
Folk dance of Goa
Dekhni is a dance form where a group of women wearing traditional dress also take an earthern pot lit with lamp in a circle with a women standing in the middle is considered as beautiful as Dekhni means beautiful in Konkani. which is performed on traditional song.as you can witness above.
Fugdi dance form is a mixture of marathi and konkani dance form where group of women dance to express their joy of festivities.
Kumbi dance form is the ancient dance form where group of women wear a raised sari wear gajara (flower) and dance with enthusiasm on beats performed during festivals.
Dangar dance is performed by men who wear a traditional attire with musical instruments or dandiya (sticks) .Its quite similar to Navratri of Gujarat.They perform this dance to please god.The dance steps are extremely energetic.
Dhalo dance is especially a ritual dance form where a group of women prform to please god to take care of her household.
Goff dance is performed with plate,ribbons wherein they perform dance like they are playing with each other. Taking away of thali or changing directions with ribbons looks colourful.
